Snowshoeing
Experience winter where it is most beautiful
Snowshoeing means experiencing the winter mountain world in a particularly intense way. In the midst of silence, snow-covered slopes and untouched nature, there is space to slow down, open up and discover new perspectives. A guided snowshoe tour not only offers you an unforgettable experience in nature, but also safety, knowledge and comfort. Whether as an introduction to snowshoeing, as a sporting challenge or as part of a personal coaching session in the great outdoors - snowshoeing gets you moving, strengthens your body awareness and has a lasting effect on your mental balance.

Avalanche safety: introduction & consolidation especially for snowshoeing
Snowshoeing outside of winter hiking routes prepared by snow groomers requires knowledge of the avalanche situation and how to use emergency equipment - even on snowshoe trails. These are rarely checked for avalanche danger. The responsibility remains with the snowshoer. These training courses focus on avalanche transceivers, probes, shovels, reading avalanche bulletins and what to do in an emergency, in a practical way and adapted to your level.
-
Guided snowshoe tours for teams, families, groups of friends
A day in the snow strengthens relationships. Whether as a team outing, family experience or special birthday surprise - guided snowshoe hikes for groups combine nature, exercise and encounters. With a cozy stop for refreshments and regional specialties on request.
-
Coaching in nature - even in winter with snowshoes
Winter nature offers a powerful setting for personal processes. Snowshoeing as a coaching format brings clarity, opens up new perspectives and encourages reflection. Ideal for people who not only want to experience nature, but also use it to get moving - inside and out.
Safety & competence in winter
Knowledge is crucial in winter terrain. Safety begins long before the tour - with planning, equipment and assessing the conditions. Anyone who moves around in the snow and mountains needs orientation, awareness and experience. These are the key aspects that I pay particular attention to in order to make your snowshoeing experience safe, well thought-out and enjoyable.
-
Tour planning & orientation
Every snowshoe hike is based on careful planning. The terrain, snow conditions, avalanche situation, weather conditions and retreat options are all taken into account. The result is a route that is not only beautiful, but also safe.
-
Terrain assessment
Especially in winter, knowledge about slope inclination, exposure and danger zones is crucial. The route is selected with the necessary respect for nature - adapted to the experience level of all participants.
-
Handling avalanche emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel)
Safety starts with your equipment. Anyone who ventures into the mountains in winter should know how to use an avalanche emergency kit. This is taught in practical courses and tours - including training in the terrain.
-
Movement technique for snowshoeing
Snowshoeing requires different movement patterns than walking in summer. A wide stance, adapted steps, use of poles - all this is explained and practiced in order to be efficient and easy on the joints.
-
Body awareness, energy balance and break management
A good tour is not a question of speed, but of mindfulness. Those who manage their energy well enjoy more. This also includes being aware of your limits and needs - both for yourself and in the group.
Coaching in winter - clarity in motion
The combination of movement, nature and reflection is particularly powerful in winter. The snow reduces the outside world to the essentials, the rhythm of walking opens the view inwards. Coaching on snowshoes means: pausing, feeling, thinking ahead - without pressure, but with depth. A format that moves.

FAQs about snowshoeing
-
Who is snowshoeing suitable for?
Snowshoeing is suitable for anyone who enjoys being outdoors, regardless of age or fitness level. Whether you are a beginner on your first snowshoe tour or already have some experience, it doesn't matter. The important thing is that your wishes, your ability and your physical condition are taken into account. Thanks to individual planning, I can cater specifically to your pace and your goal, be it relaxation, a sporting challenge or a conscious experience of nature. Snowshoeing is also ideal for families, teams or groups who want to spend time together in the snow.
-
What distinguishes your guided snowshoe hikes from other offers?
What makes my guided snowshoe hikes special is the combination of individual planning, personal guidance and a high level of expertise. I don't offer ready-made tours, but create each snowshoe hike from scratch based on your experience, your wishes and the current weather and snow conditions. I pay attention to small group sizes, personal supervision, the highest safety standards and a coherent overall package. Whether snowshoeing for beginners or more challenging snowshoe tours at WT3 level: you will be accompanied with clarity, calm and know-how.
-
What equipment do I need for a snowshoe tour?
For a guided snowshoe hike you need functional winter clothing (several layers), at least ankle-high hiking boots with a good profile, possibly gaiters, gloves, hat, sunglasses and sun protection. You can hire snowshoes, poles and avalanche emergency equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel) from me. I work together with Arena Sport in Buochs, an experienced partner with high-quality equipment. This means you don't have to worry about your equipment and can concentrate fully on your experience.
-
Why should I book a guided snowshoe hike?
A guided snowshoe hike offers you many advantages. You don't have to worry about planning, weather analysis or route selection - I take care of that for you. At the same time, you benefit from my experience in the terrain, my knowledge of avalanche safety and my eye for detail. I pay attention to your pace, your need for breaks and your safety. Especially in winter, knowledge of terrain, snow conditions and emergency strategies is crucial. This way, your snowshoe hike will not only be an enjoyable experience, but also a safe one.
-
Can I go on a snowshoe tour with you on my own?
Yes, one-to-one guiding is possible and often particularly effective. Whether you want to learn something specific, prepare for your own tour or simply be out in nature undisturbed: a 1:1 snowshoe tour offers you maximum attention and depth. I can focus entirely on you, answer your questions, provide you with technical support or organize the day as a silent coaching session. This form is particularly recommended for beginners or people with special issues.
-
How strenuous is snowshoeing?
This depends very much on the choice of tour. A leisurely snowshoe day hike on flat terrain can be easily mastered even if you are not very fit. More demanding snowshoe tours in alpine terrain require more stamina, coordination and surefootedness. Basically, snowshoeing is a little more intensive than hiking, as you move with wider steps and the snow offers additional resistance. Through individual planning, I make sure that the tour is suitable for your level, neither over- nor underchallenging.
-
Do you also offer snowshoe hikes for young people and families?
Yes, snowshoeing is wonderful for families. I make the tours playful, safe and varied, with plenty of breaks, little nature discoveries and, if desired, a picnic or a stop for refreshments. Exercising in the snow, consciously walking off-piste and spending time together in nature strengthens team spirit and is simply fun. Snowshoeing is also very suitable for young people aged 12 and over.
-
What happens in bad weather or avalanche danger?
Safety always comes first. I check the avalanche situation on a daily basis via the SLF and keep a close eye on weather developments. If there is a high avalanche risk, storm or snowfall, a tour may have to be canceled or postponed. In many cases, however, an alternative area with safe conditions can be found spontaneously. The important thing is that you can be sure that you will only set off if the conditions are responsible. A safe tour is a good tour and sometimes plan B is even better than plan A.
-
How much does a guided snowshoe tour cost?
The prices depend on the duration, group size, region and any rental equipment. A 1:1 snowshoe day hike usually costs more than a group tour, but you get maximum individuality. For companies, teams and families, I can create a tailor-made offer on request. The prices include my planning, accompaniment, safety assessment, organization of equipment if necessary and all preparations. You will receive a transparent offer with no hidden costs.
