Getting back into snow sports
Back on the skis. Or really arriving for the first time.
Life is not linear. Sometimes the path takes us away from the snow for a while. Career, family, injuries or life crises can lead to skiing, cross-country skiing or telemarking disappearing from everyday life. But the desire to get back into it remains. This is exactly where I come in. I will accompany you individually, sensitively and with a lot of experience on your very personal path back to snow sports. Arrive properly.
Re-entry does not mean starting from scratch
Every story is unique. That's why I don't have rigid programs. I support you where you are right now - with a lot of mindfulness for your physical, emotional and mental resources.
-
Returning to work after a long break
Many people return to skiing years later because their career, family or other priorities have taken priority. The equipment, the piste conditions and your own body have changed in the meantime. I will accompany you through this new beginning with sensitivity and know-how.
-
Skiing after an accident or illness
After an accident or illness, the biggest hurdle is often the head. I will help you to regain confidence. This also includes mental techniques such as EMDR or targeted resource work.
-
Insecurities and fear when skiing
Are you afraid of collisions or too many people on the slopes? I'll show you strategies on how to deal with such situations safely. Together we will develop a plan that will give you confidence - before the start and on the piste.
-
Technical refresher for newcomers
Skis have changed, and so has technique. If you haven't skied for a while, I'll help you to develop a good feeling for skiing again - tailored to your current level and your goals.
When the snow touches old wounds
An accident, a loss of control or a frightening situation in the snow can have a deep impact, not only physically but also emotionally. Many people who want to go skiing or cross-country skiing again feel inner blockages, even though the desire is back. I will help you to take these fears seriously and gently dissolve them. With my experience in coaching and snow sports, we will find your way back to safety with targeted preparation, mental stabilization and mindful use of your resources. In this way, returning to skiing after a skiing accident or trauma can become a positive experience again.
What you can expect when returning to work
I don't work with standard processes, but with you as a person. Your story, your resources and your goals determine the path.
-
Rediscover skiing
You want to get back on the slopes, but at your own pace? I'll accompany you in the ski area, on the slopes and, if you wish, on variants or into freeride terrain - when you're ready.
-
Finding cross-country skiing love again
Cross-country skiing is gentle, rhythmic and ideal for getting back into the swing of things. Together we will see whether classic or skating suits you better and start where you feel safe.
-
Learn or refresh your telemark skills
Telemark is a rarity - and also one of my favorite snow sports equipment. Whether you're getting back into it or making your first attempts: I will accompany you on this unique path with technical and mental experience.
-
Release emotional blockages
Whether it's fear after a skiing accident, insecurities in a crowd or old images in your head that no longer match reality - I work with you to recognize, understand and dissolve inner blockages.
-
Recognizing and shifting boundaries
We'll look together at where your current limits lie. And then we decide: Do we want to stay where it is comfortable today, or do we dare to go a step further?

FAQs on returning to snow sports
-
How does re-entry support work in practice?
My accompaniment is 100% individual. You don't book a standardized package, but decide each time what you need. This can be a single day of skiing with a focus on mental safety or a small support program over several weeks. We clarify in advance what is bothering you - physically, mentally or emotionally - and build your personal snow sports experience on this. I will accompany you personally in the terrain, on the cross-country ski trail or on the piste - or in the coaching room if you are dealing with emotional blockages. Anything is possible. Nothing is obligatory.
-
How do I find the right moment to get back into snow sports?
The right time to get back on the slopes is not necessarily when you can do everything again, but when you want to get back in touch with snow sports. Whether skiing, cross-country skiing or telemark skiing, your inner desire is the starting point. I will support you in getting back into it realistically and gently: tailored to your current physical condition, your mental strength and your life situation. Together we will design a path that takes your resources into account and does not overtax you, regardless of whether you have not been on skis for ten years or want to find your way back to the snow after an intensive phase in your life.
-
What happens if I book a full day but only want to travel for half a day?
That's no problem at all. I organize all snow sports lessons flexibly and individually. If you realize after a few hours that you've had enough, whether it's getting back into skiing, learning cross-country skiing or a telemark session, then I respect that. Your form on the day, your energy level and your well-being are the priority, not the booked time slot. We plan ahead together, but there is always room for spontaneous adjustments. It's not about maximum utilization, but about a good, harmonious experience in the snow.
-
Is the offer suitable for everyone - even if I haven't ridden for a long time?
Yes, of course. My offer is aimed at anyone who wants to get back into skiing - regardless of age, fitness, previous experience or skiing style. Whether you skied for the last time years ago, had an accident or simply no longer feel comfortable on the slopes: I will accompany you with sensitivity and patience. Everyone has different experiences - and can find their own way to rediscover the joy of skiing, cross-country skiing or telemark skiing.
-
Can I take an accompanying person with me when I return to work?
Basically yes - and it is often even helpful. However, I don't just accompany you as a newcomer, but also pay attention to the role the person accompanying you plays. Family or friends can provide security, but they can also unconsciously exert pressure. I will help you to find out together what is helpful for you - and what is perhaps more of a hindrance. Sometimes it makes more sense to have an initial experience alone so that you can really listen to yourself and your needs.
-
Can you also advise or accompany me with the material?
Of course. I'm happy to help you choose the right equipment - whether it's skis, cross-country skis, telemark equipment or boots. I can make recommendations, accompany you to the rental shop or help you plan what you really need for your day in the snow. Especially when getting back into snow sports, it is important that the equipment, clothing and accessories match your current ability, comfort and body feeling.
-
Is the material included in your offer?
No, the material is not included in the price. However, you can always count on my support: I will help you with your choice, give you recommendations for rental equipment or - if you wish - organize the equipment together with you before the snow day. It is important that you feel safe and comfortable on your equipment - whether you are learning to ski, getting back into cross-country skiing or telemarking.
-
What happens if the weather is bad? Will it then be postponed?
As a general rule, I also accompany people in bad weather. Light snowfall, flat visibility or cool temperatures are part of snow sports - and a lot can be learned in these conditions in particular. Of course, there are exceptions, for example if you are sensitive to altitude or whiteout. In such cases, we decide together. However, purely whim-cancellations or spontaneous weather moods such as drizzle or fog are no reason not to go out. The snow is not only beautiful when it's sunny - and you can regain a lot of confidence in yourself in the fog.
-
How is it decided which ski area or terrain we use?
I choose the area according to the situation, depending on the weather, snow conditions and your goals. The focus is always on safety, suitable terrain and as little hustle and bustle as possible. For example, if you are afraid of lots of people, we avoid busy times or choose quieter areas. For cross-country skiing or telemark skiing, I also look at where you can find your way back to the snow in the best possible and stress-free way. Of course, I also take your journey and other practical factors into account.
-
How do I deal with my limits if I am quickly overwhelmed when I return to work?
Recognizing and respecting your limits is a central part of my work. I support you in being honest with yourself - physically, emotionally and mentally. When returning to skiing or cross-country skiing, many people want to pick up right where they left off. But it often takes a new approach. I will guide you with mindfulness so that you learn to avoid overexertion, consciously take breaks and really enjoy your day in the snow - even if it "only" takes an hour.
-
I'm not as fit as I used to be - is that a problem?
No, quite the opposite. Getting back into snow sports is the perfect opportunity to get to know yourself anew - regardless of previous performance patterns. I work with you on realistic, sensible goals: Maybe that means a half-hour session on cross-country skis or a few, safe runs a day on the slopes. Together we pay attention to your energy level, your stress level and your well-being - and adjust everything individually. Enjoyment instead of performance. Confidence instead of pressure. It's not about "getting back to the way you used to be", but about arriving back in the snow today.
-
Is there a minimum booking or can I only come once?
You can decide flexibly. Whether you want to try it out once or plan several sessions - I adapt to your needs. Many of my clients spontaneously decide to book more sessions after their first day in the snow, and some feel confident again after just one session. There is no minimum number and no pressure. Only you decide what is right for you.
-
I'm afraid to ski again after a skiing accident - what can help?
Returning to the slopes after a skiing accident is associated with uncertainty, fear or even panic for many people. These emotions are completely understandable and should be taken seriously. I work with tried and tested methods such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to process traumatic experiences and gently release the emotional blockage. I also support you with targeted resource work, mental strategies and specific planning aids: from choosing a quiet ski resort to the structure of your day. This will help you return to skiing after an accident safely, gently and with a stronger sense of control.
-
I haven't been on skis for 10 years. Am I too old to start skiing again?
Quite clearly: No! There is no age limit for getting back into skiing or cross-country skiing. I accompany people of all ages, from sporty 30-year-olds to 79-year-old ski tour enthusiasts who want to regain confidence on the slopes after a long break. It doesn't matter how old you are, but how we value your current condition and work with suitable offers. Modern equipment, changed slope conditions (e.g. artificial snow instead of natural snow) and your current body feeling require an adapted approach. I will accompany you step by step - with patience, experience and enjoyment.
