Insecurity, vertigo and fear of heights can often be understood as an escalation of unnoticed or unknown warning signs. After all, nothing is more natural, useful and vital to human survival than respect and fear - be it in life in general or during activities such as hiking, mountaineering, climbing, paragliding or skydiving.

The primary purpose of guidance is to alleviate your discomfort - e.g. fear, trembling, weak knees, sweaty palms, palpitations, etc. - and to fulfill your individual concerns and goals. Fear turns from enemy to ally and you move freely in the terrain and in the air.

Individuality and discretion are reflected in both the modules and the methods used. There is no one-size-fits-all recipe - there is YOUR recipe.

What is included in your fear of heights training?

  • Module 1

    During a 3-hour session in Emmetten, at a location of your choice or online, you will learn more about the psychological and neurological background to vertigo and fear of heights. You will explore your individual reaction patterns - both on a physical and mental level. Becoming aware of what moves you internally or causes you to freeze is a fundamental step. Together, we will develop personal strategies and practical training exercises to combat stress and anxiety, which will help you to deal with your challenges more confidently and freely.

  • Module 2

    Enriched by a suitable selection of exercises, you will continue to train at home until you feel confident to apply what you have learned in the field. During this time, I am always available to answer your questions and concerns - in writing or by phone.

  • Module 3 (optional)

    In the case of a mental-emotional origin of dizziness and fear of heights, neuro-emotional desensitization of the reactions (e.g. fear) is recommended. The EMDR method (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is mainly used here. This method enables you to break through your reaction patterns sustainably and thoroughly. The duration is up to 2 hours. You will receive further information by telephone or in Module 1.

  • Module 4

    Day training in the terrain. You choose where you want to go - ideally somewhere you are familiar with and where you have already encountered difficulties. Alternatively, I will be happy to recommend a hike with passages that suit your specific problem. With tips, tricks and lots of patience, we will work our way through the route together and overcome even challenging key sections.

  • Module 5 (optional)

    In-depth training in the terrain. Another day's training to deepen your skills. This time we will go to a place that you find particularly challenging, or to a place that I have chosen that is unknown to you.
